NATURAL WINES ARE made only with organic/biodynamic grapes, without adding or subtracting anything in the cellar. No additives, no chemicals, no aromas, no selected yeasts, low sulfur, that’s it.

Glou Glou is our easy-drinking natural red wine from Sicily, made from 100% Nerello Mascalese grapes and crafted for freshness and approachability.
✦ The IDEA OF THE wine
Glou Glou was born from a simple desire: to enjoy a red wine even in summer.
A red that is light, refreshing and easy to drink far from barrel-aged styles or wines defined by high alcohol and heavy tannins.
Three years ago, we decided to plant Nerello Mascalese in the Monreale area, with a clear intention: to understand how this grape could express itself outside its traditional home on Mount Etna, and to show that meaningful expressions of Nerello Mascalese can also be achieved beyond the Etna area.
Through our first experiments, it became clear that the grape’s natural freshness and its vivid red-fruit profile made it the ideal base for a glou glou style wine immediate, joyful and driven by drinkability.
Glou Glou is conceived as an easy-going, clean and refreshing wine, perfect to be enjoyed as a casual “snack” wine or as an aperitif.
As its name suggests, it is meant to be drunk freely and light-heartedly, without overthinking.
With its bright red fruit and gentle spice notes, this expressive wine is particularly enjoyable slightly chilled, making it a natural companion for hot summer days.
✦ The vineyard
The grapes come from our organic vineyards, where the Mediterranean climate smooths extremes and the soils offer balance.
Warm sun and fresh breezes alternate, helping the fruit develop brightness and freshness even at full ripeness.
The vineyards deliver grapes with open fruit character and natural vibrancy essential qualities for a wine that is meant to be immediate, friendly and true to the vine.
✦ In the cellar
In the cellar, we follow the same philosophy that guides all our wines:
spontaneous fermentation
minimal intervention
ageing in stainless steel
We work gently, allowing the wine to find its own shape and energy.
The use of stainless steel keeps the profile clean, expressive and true to the fruit, while minimal handling preserves natural character and freshness.
✦ Tasting
Glou Glou is fresh, fun and drinkable.
On the nose it offers bright red fruit, a touch of summer herbs and gentle spice, simple, direct and totally engaging.
On the palate the wine is light-to-medium bodied, with crisp acidity, smooth tannins and a finish that invites another sip. It is a wine without pretense, perfect for everyday moments and shared glasses.
It pairs beautifully with antipasti, pizza, grilled vegetables, light cheeses and any casual meal that calls for a joyful, uncomplicated red.
✦ A broader vision
With Glou Glou we wanted to celebrate the pleasure of wine in its purest, most social form: a wine that brings people together without grandeur or ceremony.
It belongs to the same family as our more structured wines, but it expresses a different side of Sicily, the side of warmth, approachability and spontaneous delight.
It is not a wine that seeks to impress with depth or weight; it is a wine that makes sense in the everyday, in laughter, in simple tables and in shared company.
THE VARIETY: NERELLO MASCALESE
Nerello Mascalese is a red-wine grape originating in the Etna region of Sicily, which remains its primary and almost sole home today. It is not yet very well known outside Italy, but most critics consider it a star-class wine.
Nerello Mascalese is now thought to be a crossing of Sangiovese and another (as yet unidentified) variety.
Nerello Mascalese appears in the wines of several Italian DOCs, but is the major player in the Etna Rosso and Faro DOCs. Even there, it can, by law, be blended with not over 20% of Nerello Capuccio and other local varieties, though mnonovarietal bottlings are common. Many producers of serious Nerello Mascalese view blending with a certain amount of scorn, considering it a noble and complex wine on its own. This wine is one of the rising stars of our time, and is well worth investigating by those not yet familiar with it.
A typical Nerello Mascalese tends to be light in color and fairly alcoholic, causing some to compare it to Pinot Noir, with which it shares—besides its general nature—the quality of being drinkable young yet gaining greatly from careful aging.
