OUR IDEA OF BEEKEEPING

Our apiary is located on a hill at an altitude of 300 meters, 6 km from the sea in the Alcamo area.

The lands located around the apiary are mostly uncultivated and our bees can fly over a myriad of wild flowers, the main flowers being Sulla clover in April, Cardoons in May, Dill in June and Eucalyptus in July.

This great floral variety enables us to extract a high-quality wildflowers honey and sometimes even small quantities of single-floral honey.

We do not follow bee breeding trends, but respect the local area by working with native bees, the result of the evolution and adaptation of these prized insects to the environmental conditions of Sicily.

The wildflower honey we produce is always different, as it changes radically according to the year and the period when the supers are collected (generally every two to three weeks in the spring).

We love selecting different batches of wildflower honey to appreciate the different organoleptic sensations that this honey can give us between the months of March and July, precisely because it is the result of the myriad of different flowers that bloom in this period.

There is not therefore just one type of wildflower honey but infinite nuances of honeys, which are merely the reflection of the floral essences that nature gives us day after day.

APIARY

The apiary is located in Alcamo, a few kilometres from the sea. The intense work of collecting the nectar starts in the spring and continues until mid-July. Since it comes from fixed hives (always in the same location), the honey we produce is in fact a wildflower honey with different properties which change depending on when the honey supers are collected. By collecting the supers every two weeks and extracting the honey in small batches, we can produce different tasting wildflower honeys that mirror the essences that nature offers us day after day. We do not follow bee breeding trends, choosing instead to breed only native Sicilian bees that are better suited to live in Sicily than other types.
